Cottonwood Star Coven

A (un)traditional coven in North Laval, Qc., on the unceded Indigenous territory of the Kanien’kehá:ka nation

Cottonwood Star

Welcome to Cottonwood Star. We are a Wiccan coven located in Laval, Quebec, on the unceded Indigenous territory of the Kanien’kehá:ka nation, near the Kanà:tso River (Kanien’kéha for the Ottawa River), where it feeds into the Kahrhionhwa’kó:wa (St Lawrence River).

Our practice is land-based. In fact, the coven draws its name from the land it borders, which is full of cottonwood trees and New England asters.

Cottonwood Star is inclusive and open to community members from all walks of life. LGBTQI+, BIPOC, and neuro-divergent members are welcome.

We are a dual lineage coven. Our practice and tradition are both Whitecroft Gardnerian and Isis Uranian in influence. We also are a living tradition, which means that we adapt and grow our practice in response to the modern world and land we inhabit. We encourage critical thinking about the roles of inclusion, cultural appropriation, and decolonization within Wicca and the larger neo-pagan movement. Our practices reflect this and when they don’t, we strive to make them so.

All classes and rituals are in English.
